The tenth edition of the National Symposium on Soil Degradation Control and Recovery will be held in Burgos on June 24, 25, 26 and 27. This congress organized by the Spanish Society of Soil Science (SECS) and the University of Burgos is of special relevance for the scientific and academic community related to soil science. During the course, topics such as the challenges and the most innovative solutions in the key area of the European Union will be addressed. <\/p>\n\n

Soil health is a topic of growing interest and concern in the European Union, as its condition directly impacts various aspects of human well-being and the environment. In the EU, it is estimated that there are more than 2.8 million potentially contaminated sites and agricultural soils at risk of eutrophication and erosion, a deterioration that not only endangers our ecosystems, but also water quality and agricultural productivity, essential for our survival.<\/p>\n\n

In this context, scientific societies such as the Spanish Society of Soil Science play a fundamental role in raising awareness and disseminating this reality throughout society. For its part, the SECS promotes CONDEGRES to promote knowledge of soils, the problem of soil degradation and the recovery processes necessary to achieve a fully healthy state.. This tenth edition, organized by the University of Burgos, represents a valuable scientific contribution<\/strong>, technical and human resource, just at a time when soil health is a priority objective for the European Commission.<\/p>\n\n

The conference will focus on five thematic areas: contaminated soils, agricultural soils, forest soils, digitization and urban soils, and soil health. Fifty previously selected speakers will present their work, while almost 100 scientific posters of the other participants will be exhibited in the courtyard of the Hospital del Rey of the University of Burgos.<\/p>\n\n

In this context, the project will be presented in poster and conference format, in future posts we will know in depth the topic exposed.<\/p>\n\n
